How to make pipecleaner glasses for your teddy bear
This year the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba is holding it’s Teddy Bear Picnic virtually. Normally the Manitoba Association of Optometrists participates with a eye care tent for teddy bears. Here is a video on how to make eyeglasses for your teddy bear virtually.
Hey everyone I’m Dr. Selena Friesen from Waverley Eye Care and The Manitoba Association of Optometrists. So I know YOU have had your eyes examined but what happens when your teddy bear needs glasses? Today we are going to learn the 4 steps on how to make pipecleaner glasses for your teddy bear.
Step One: Alright lets’ talk about what you need for your glasses. First you need scissors, 3 pipecleaners and of course your teddy bear!
Step 2 you want to make the a circle for the eyewire…..you can make this any shape you want, circle, square, cateye or my favorite heartshape! Next you want to hold the eyewire up to your bears eye and then you measure how far you need the pipecleaners to reach to the side of the head of your bear…then you can trim them. Snip snip
Step 3: Next you repeat for the other side,……..
Final step: you need to make the Bridge….first twist a pipelceaner to the edge of the eyewire. Then measure the distance to the other eye and twist it. Once you have it perfect…snip snip. And voila! Your teddy bear can see! And with that, have a Great. Optometry. Day.
