If you experience an eye emergency, acting quickly and taking steps to minimize potential damage is important.
- Call Us ASAP: In any urgent eye care situation, your first step should be to contact Waverley Eye Care Centre immediately. We can assess the problem over the phone and advise you on the best action.
- For Chemical Contact: If you get chemicals in your eye, immediately flush the affected eye with clean, lukewarm water for at least 15 minutes. Hold your eyelids open and allow the water to flow freely. Do not rub your eyes.
- Do Not Touch the Eye: Avoid rubbing, touching, or applying pressure to your injured eye, as it can worsen the injury.
- Cover the Eye Loosely: If you have a puncture wound or a foreign object lodged in your eye, do not try to remove it. Cover the affected eye loosely with a clean cloth or bandage and seek immediate medical attention.
