Good Optometry morning is a youtube channel features Dr. Michael Nelson as your youtube optometrist and it answers questions about your eye health, vision, eyesight, contact lenses, eyeglasses, eye disease and and all things related to your eyesight.
If you are here you probably have some question about your eyes, vision, glasses, contacts, eye disease or something like that. And I want to help you with that, and I’ll tell you why. I want to help you because I know a whole bunch about you your visual system and things used for your vision. I studied optometry at the University of Waterloo in Canada, and I did a residency in low vision and primary eye care at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. I have my fellowship with the American Academy of Optometry. I teach student optometrists and ophthalmology residents in my clinic. I’ve been the president of the Manitoba Association of optometrists and the Canadian Association of Optometrists. My wife is an Optometrist and together we have started 2 practices from scratch. But me having lots of experience in eye care is not why I started this channel.
I started this channel because I’m an eye doctor with eye problems. I have some of the obvious stuff. I’m nearsighted, have astigmatism, presbyopia, but I have had cataracts surgery, macular edema, injections in my eye, a rare eye condition called birdshot retinopathy, vitreous detachment, floaters, I wear glasses, contacts, have had dry eye and think there are few more things…. So just like you I have had something wrong with my vision but the difference between you and me is that I know all about the eye and vision and sometimes I still had to research about my conditions.
So my goal here on good optometry morning is to use my personal experience AND my knowledge of eyes to help inform you about your eyes and your vision. And I’m happy to be your youtube eye doctor so make sure you hit the subscribe button because I know you want more information about your eyes.
